A Journey of Healing, Growth, and Empowerment

With a GROWING awareness of OUR planets’ current condition, the Ashan Foundation is taking steps to inspire the next generation by building a FUTURE without BORDERS.

Our Story: From Seed to a Global Movement

The Back to Eden Initiative (BTE) began with a simple yet profound vision: reconnecting people to the land, themselves, and their communities. The name "Eden" symbolizes a return to harmony—an alignment with the land and the interconnected ecosystems that sustain life.

In 2018, this vision came to life in the heart of East Africa, at the Junior Excellence School in Uganda. Recognizing the growing need to inspire young minds and nurture their entrepreneurial spirit, the Ashan Foundation collaborated with local educators to launch the Back to Eden curriculum. Rooted in agriculture, this initiative taught students practical skills, fostered community engagement, and encouraged holistic education.

What started as a pilot program in a small schoolyard—where students cultivated tomatoes, onions, and spinach—has blossomed into a global initiative. Today, Back To Eden Global is headquartered on a thriving farm in Northwest Georgia, inspiring communities worldwide to reimagine their relationship with the land, their culture, and their future.

Why BTE Matters

As humanity faces unprecedented challenges, BTE Global rises to meet the moment with bold solutions. We aim to heal the land, connect people, and empower communities through:

  • Cultural Think Tanks for innovative market solutions

  • Environmentally-Safe pathways to sustainable growth

  • Strategic Collaborations that amplify local leadership

Our mission is to engage communities in experiential learning and entrepreneurial projects that spark lasting change!
